Moxel vs Fathom Analytics
Fathom is a simple, paid, cookieless traffic tool that keeps EU visitors on EU servers by default. Moxel goes further into what people do on the page: every form field, every checkout step, and a list of what to change.
THEIRS
Pick Fathom Analytics if
- You mostly want to know how many people came and where from. Fathom shows that on one page, with no setup beyond a script.
- You want EU visitors processed in the EU without changing a setting. Fathom does this by default, and Moxel does not offer a choice of region.
- You want to see which countries, regions and cities your visitors are in. Moxel does not record location.
- You want a long-running, independent company behind the tool. Moxel is new.
- You run many sites. Fathom says every plan covers at least 50 of them, and Moxel's standard plan covers 5.
OURS
Pick Moxel if
- Your question is why people do not finish a form or a checkout.
- You want form tracking down to the field. In Fathom, a form is counted when you add a line of code that fires an event on submit.
- You want funnels. Fathom's documentation lists events and conversion rates, and no funnel report.
- You want the next step spelled out, not only the numbers.

The part a traffic tool does not show.
A form sent is one number. This is everything that happened before it, field by field.
VISITOR
1 of 5
- Waiting for the first event.
Five visitors, three different fields. That is the pattern you would never see in a conversion rate.
NOT YET
What Moxel does not do.
- No session recordings and no heatmaps. Moxel counts what people do. It does not film the screen.
- No visitor locations. Country, region and city are not recorded.
- Returning visitors only within one week. The code that tells people apart resets every Monday, so someone who comes back next week looks new.
- No choice of hosting region, and no EU-only hosting.
- No free plan after the 30-day trial.
BOTH
Can I use Moxel and Fathom Analytics together?
Yes. Neither sets cookies and they do not get in each other's way.
